Graduation Cupcake Toppers

What you need:
  •  Fondant – white, blue, yellow, red
  •  X-Acto Knife
  •  Ruler
  •  Pizza cutter or fondant cutter
  •  Greeting embosser cutter
  •  Bowl with water
  •  Paintbrush 
  •  Shortening (for greasing the table so fondant will not stick on it while rolling it out)
  •  Powdered sugar (for dusting and to prevent the fondant from sticking on to your hands and table)


How to make a “Diploma” fondant topper
Step 1: Cut 2″x 2″ square using a pizza cutter or fondant cutter.


Step 2: Roll the 2″x 2″ square 

Step 3: Tie the rolled white fondant with a Red string fondant.

How to make the stamped “Congrats” greeting
Step 1: Roll out a 1/8″ thick yellow fondant
Step 2: Use a stamper cutter to cut and embossed the fondant with the “Congrats” greeting. 
Step 3: Press down and twist the stamper to the fondant to form the shape (see photo in step 1). Then press the spring to embossed the lettering on to the fondant.

How to make Graduation Caps

Step 1: Get a 1″x 1″ square cutter and cut a few pieces. This will be used for the top of the graduation caps.



Step 2: Cut 2 1/2″ x 3/4″ strips. This will be used as the base of the graduation caps.
Step 3: Roll up the fondant to create a ring. Brush a bit of water on one edge and connect the other edge. Set aside to dry.
Step 4: When the squares and the rolled up strips are all dry, stick the squares and strips together by brushing a bit of water on the top of the rolled up strips.

Step 5: Make a thin log about 2.5 inches long using the yellow fondant. Cut both edges to make the thickness of the log even. Then press your finger on on edge to make the edge flat. Then use an X-acto knife and slice the flat edge 4 times to make the tassel.
